The rabbit in this society represents the joker or the trickster. Remember Bugs Bunny? All cultures have their own image of a trickster in their mythology.

Of course as someone said earlier Rabbit is considered one of the Trickster God's in Native American beliefs.

I am taught that the rabbit represents trickery (in a lite way as fox does so slyly), and fertility. When I encounter the rabbit in my own day to day, I think of the fertility aspect first.
