I've only had petrol cars before so I need to know if there's any other thing I need to keep a check on. It's a renault megane 1.9 diesel. Anyone out there with the same make of car,it would be helpful if I could have some maintenance tips. Thanks.

Make sure you replace your fuel filter and air filter. Replace your glow plugs and make sure you don't get any air in the fuel line(s) prior to any maintenance. Run a fuel stabilizer in the tank for water in the system; and clean your injectors.

Fuel filter and fuel dryer maybe. Diesels are notoriously low maintenance.
