Has Canada Ever Qualify To A World Cup?

I Never seen them! Its a shame to see a big country thats speaks english&french and cant qualify for a world cup.......

CANADA has qualified only once back in 1986 in Mexico, losing all three group matches without scoring a goal.

Of course Canada qualified for the WC. Mexico in 1986. Lost all three group games v France, Hungary and the Soviet Union but all three were close games and Canada was not disgraced.


PS: What does speaking English and French have to do with qualifying for the WC?

Well, we have back in 1986. Honestly, though, why would we? our best athletes go into the sports where they can make the most money so that'd be hockey, baseball, football (as in the CFL or NFL), basketball, golf...then maybe soccer.

Even the highest paid soccer star (this is just salary not including endoresements) would make less than most second-line hockey players.

Look, the best Finnish athletes play hockey as that's where the money is. Ditto Russians and Czechs to be honest (even though their national teams do OK in qualifying for World Cups).

It's money--pure and simple. Most other nations their BEST athletes play soccer as that's really the only sports option they have. Here we have choices so anyone who chooses soccer has to be either really dedicated (or stupid) or no good at the more lucrative sports.

Yup it sucks, Thats why Concacaf cant get better because Canada(they play hockey), USA (have too many sports), Central American teams and Carribean teams are poor thats why they cant get better. Mexico plays alright since they are a big country thats stick to soccer, & USA would have a really good team if they didnt have other sports
