I've been having painful contrations every day through out my whole preganancy. Sometimes they are 3 minutes apart. My cervix has not changed at all. I've been to the hospital and since it is too early to have my child they've tried to give me medicine to stop the contractions but they have failed. So now all I've been able to do is take pain medicine to ease the pain of the contractions. What could be causing these contreactions everyday...and how will I know when I am really in labor?

if you are close to having your baby then it's ok, but if your not ready then call your doctor again that's what your paying him for remember it's your body and you now if there's some thing not right. if your water brakes then you will now and the pains will get stronger and longer be there done that. i had 3 kid's. good luck to you and your baby.

I went through the same thing only the medicine stopped them. I guess if the doctor tells you all is normal you have to deal with it..But they also say by walking around when you get the contractions and drinking plenty of fluids should help ease the pain..

I agree with cheech, you need a second opinion. I don't think pain medication is good for the baby and I know you shouldn't be having painful contractions during your entire pregnancy.

well it is hard to say if your in labor or not. you will know when you are in labor because you will probably get worse pains and you know yourself enough that it will be different than you been experiencing. good girl. maybe you should say how many months or weeks you are>>>>>>

Talk to your doctor or nurse practitioner and ask what you should expect. It's not something you should take advice about from strangers on the internet.

If it is that painful, your body is trying to tell you something. Get a second opinion. IMMEDIATELY!
