What is the meaning of life? The question itself contains a word that is a misnomer. The word "life" should actually read "death" since this existence that we all like to call "life" is really "death." We all reside in the world of the dead, in "Hades" or "Hell," if you will. And of course, the dead know nothing, hence the reason we're continually asking "What is the meaning of life?" Since we're also inquiring of the dead, we get no sure replies.

Those receiving the gift of life and resurrected will no longer have to ask "What is the meaning of life?" Being alive, they also have knowledge and the answer to the question before it's even asked.

I think that there's not one answer for each of these questions, but many. The answer to any question with no definite answer is whatever you want it to be. You choose. However, you'll never know the 'right' answer, if there is one at all. Questions without answers don't have answers because they rely on something indefinite, or changing. Maybe we don't know because the answer hasn't been determined yet. I like to think that the universe exists because it has to--there can be no other way. (and no, I'm not a taoist)

The only thing that every religion has in common is the belief in an afterlife. So if you're a person of faith, you could say that everything in our lives leads up to life after death. But if you aren't a religious person, our bodies decay and the matter that makes them up is reused. So in that case you could say that everything leads up to death so our bodies can be recycled.

The meaning of life is to learn and be happy. He exist to interpret ourselves and the universe, thus the universe exists to understand itself, which is circular. But this is what I believe. We cannot truly know why the universe exists only speculate. You are asking these questions because you are human and we are inquisitive beings. And finally there are answers to these questions, but the only answers that ever matter are the ones for ourselves. So your answers to the above questions are important not mine.
