This question makes as much sense as the pope on acid. Swans dont have arms they have wings.........

Swans don't have arms, as has already been stated. But if you meant "can a swan break a man's arm", read on:

Fashion designer Donna Karan's Jack Russell, Petey, was killed by a swan which used its wings to hold the dog underwater while he "pecked his head bloody" in Central Park in New York last year. Donna's daughter Gaby unsuccessfully campaigned to have a sign erected reading 'Beware - Killer Swan'.

And this, from Swanuk.org:

"Is it true that a swan's wing can break your arm?

Yes, but only in exceptional cases. If a wing in full span and velocity were to hit a weak-boned person (such as a child or an elderly person) then it is theoretically possible. In reality it is almost unheard of and is never used as a form of attack as swans are a defensive bird. The only time they become aggressive is when they are protecting their nesting ground or cygnets when they will chase off intruders, be they other swans, geese or humans who get too close."

I don't know about swans breaking people's arms, but I have four geese and one nearly broke my ribs a few days ago. They have really powerfull wings. I guess that swans are the same.

I cannot give you proof, but I can swear that I was at the local pond (we go every other day) and saw a swan attack a young lad and his leg was most definately broken!! One bit my wee girl on the finger and it was terrible, and I have saw them gang up on a dog (german shepherd) which was in the water one day and the dog left the pond yelping- they can be realy aggressive, but I think it happens mostly this time of year when they have eggs / sygnets

Theirs a website for some Illinois parks and rec. department that makes reference to that, saying "A blow from
his powerful wing has been known to break a man's leg." referring to the "mute swan". Another site from the UK says it is true but rare.

I wouldn't know, if a swan came that close to me in an attack, it would have a bullet put in it.
