they eat plants. Acacia leaves in particular. the tree has thorns and so their long tongue swerves through the branches to find leaves to eat.

Giraffes eat the leaves from the tops of trees where nothing else can reach. That's why they're so tall. They do not eat meat and what are doing with a giraffe anyway!!?? Is it a pet!?

Why are you feeding a giraffe in the first place? They know how to feed themselves lol. :) They are plant eaters, that's why they are so tall, so they can reach the trees and plants.

Plants .. including trees ...... thus they evolved to have the long neck to reach the more tender upper parts of the tree.
