It's true that Castor oil is a laxative...Have you ever heard of women having bowel movements while giving birth? Well it's natural for your body to get rid of all unneeded waste before giving birth. Castor Oil can do this and speed up the laboring process...I was told not to take it and did anyway. It didn't help. Your body's labor pain will tell you when the time is right. You shouldn't rush the labor. Let your body do it's own thing....if you are too impatient to wait then castor oil is perfectly safe.

Castor oil is an old timmy remidy, you can still find it in drug stores, I belive it's a laxative. But, don't do anything to induce labor, whaterer you eat OR drink goes INTO the baby. You don't want that. It will happen, the baby can't stay in forever, trust me. Every woman goes through this. If you really must, try walking, or hopefully a storm will be in your area, when the barametric pressure drops, for some reason, pregnant women go into labor. Or having sex, some people say that induces labor. But don't drink anything it might harm the baby.

Castor oil is fish oil. You can get it in bottle or capsule form at pretty much any grocery store.

The way it works to induce labor is that it causes your intestines to cramp up over and over, this can cause the uterus to start contacting in response.

Most doctors/midwives reccomend trying 4 ounces of it at first (Mix it with something like orange juice - it tastes disgusting) and then another 4 ounces a few hours later.

BE WARNED: You may go into labor, but you will also most certianly get horrible diarrhea.

It's Caster Oil, and it is a type of lax. that makes your intestines rumble and hopefully begin contractions. However, it is very unsafe to do this. It can cause your baby to have to go to the bathroom as well as you, and the baby can actually have his/her first BM in the womb, which he/she can take into their body and cause some problems with them, even a stillbirth in a few instances. If you're trying to help move your body into labor, either have sex (seman softens the cervix, as well as the whole process of getting excited can induce labor), also walking, can help. Those are the two safest, and probably the two most effective ways to self induce labor.

You are not really gonna drink motor oil, I hope. Castor oil is in the pharmacy part of walmart. Ask for it. It's a myth though.

are you sure they don't mean Castrol Syntec?

actually castor oil is an oil that comes from the castor bean.
check wikipedia for more info. most drug stores/pharmacies should carry it or be able to tell you where to get it.

I believe it is some sort of fish oil. Dont give in to any of these "myths". It will happen. The biggest clue is when you loose your mucus plug. I went into labor 3 days after mine came out.

Yeah it's fish oil. Doesn't work. Tried it. Never made me going into labor. So it's a waste of money.
