Why do most of the people prefer having a baby boy rather then a baby girl?If people didnt have girls we wouldnt be here.
I think all the babies are cute and sweet,it all depends on how we raise our kids up.

People are selfish. People mostly in our culture see boys as income earners and care takers while girls will grow up get married and not provide or help out in bring income into the family so thus end up being looked as being a burden. The girls are consided a burden because they need to be grown, schooled, married and sent off without any income earned by them and thus all the education, growing up, marriage will cost the family money as well. This is the way of thinking not only in the indian culture but in most of the 3rd world countries. Babies are babies and to me they are all very precious and should be loved and cared for as such. Its sad that people feel sad or bad towards babies that are girls. I can actually go on and on and on on this subject but I think you get the point..................later.

I'm not sure if "most" people prefer boys over girls, but if I had a girl and anyone hurt her I would have to kill them. As a result of committing murder I would then go to prison. Things happen in prison that don't fit my agenda. Therefor I would rather have a boy. He could cut the grass, I hate cutting the grass.
(I know what you are thinking. Don't worry, I'm not going to have any children.)

Well boys carry on the family name. Girls go off and get married, move out and become part of another family. In the old days it was very important because girls would moe out and help another family work on the farm.

I think people who want boys want them to carry on the family name. I don't have kids yet, but when the time comes I don't care if they're boys or girls. I'll love them either way!

One, to carry on the family name.
Two, cuz girls are high maintenance and too dramatic, especially at that time of the month, and require too much supervision as they get older, especially teenage years.
Three, boys are often simpler and more fun if you enjoy getting dirty, playing hard and like being outside.

Many people would rather have boys so that they can carry on the family name when they marry someone.

Maybe it is just tradition. It might have started when we needed a boy to inherit the farm, rather than leaving it up to a son-in-law who hadn't been trained as thoroughly as a son would be trained.
