Well it's Mary J. Blidge. I can understand Beyonce, Rihanna and Keyshia Cole. But Ciara and Ashanti. That's a whole different story and I'm going to stop right now before it gets controversial. Also, didn't you say "Who's your favorite female singer?". I thought you implied who was the favorite? Meaning one. Also you said singer, you implied one. But you mentioned more than one. I'm done.

My niece says Rihanna. She really likes her song, "Unfaithful." I've heard of Ashanti and Beyonce, but I couldn't name a song.

I prefer singer/songwriters - that's REAL talent.
It is far more moving when someone is singing the words they wrote based on experiences they've had.
Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Bonnie Raitt, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow -- these women can make me feel the joy and pain every time, even when I've heard the songs hundreds of times over.
I love Mary for who she is, and what she represents, her lyrics are good, too. Her studio work is good and you feel what she's singing, but every time I hear her live, she's off key and it it's like nails on a chalkboard. BTW, her lat name is spelled Blige
Alicia Keys is the opposite for me; the studio stuff is good, but live it's HOT!
