A computer program cannot be inherently good or bad. Limewire is simply a tool used to share files. Due to the fact the action on Limewire is completely unrestricted. People can use it for other than intended purposes. So the program is not bad. But some of the ppl that use it are.

Lime wire is unsecure. The files you download may or maynot have viruses. Usually that's not the case or the viruses have not gone into effect which is why so many people argue against it. But no matter how you look at it there is nothing stopping someone from naming a virus the name of something you wanna download. Use good judgement if you have to download via limewire but I would suggest using a Torrent method. Much safer you can go to http://www.anivision.us to find more info.

Limewire is a spam free P2P, it the people that use it that make it unsafe.
I have used it for a long time, and I have also downloaded Bad files, but you get to know what is bad and what is safe to download. The key is to look at the file size, and format. If you are downloading music only download .MP3 and .WAV, for movies .AVI or .MPG NEVER DOWNLOAD .ISO or .ZIP or .WAR
downloading programs ig games cant mess you up big time.
I hope this helps in some way, Dont give up on Limewire

limewire has ****** me over several times but i still use it for songs. NEVER use limewire for software downloads because they are full of viruses and if you download an archive i.e. rar or winzip if its a virus when you unpack it it would say the setup file is corrupted if that comes up run a virus scan right after and every time you download stuff from limewire

LimeWire isn't evil, but a lot of times malware does pass through its servers. It's best not to use LimeWire--especially for the popular stuff. I used it for a long time to download older, less popular files, and I never had any problems. However, when I used it to download a just-released movie that lots of people were downloading, it caused me problems. You should get rid of the software. Best bet is to pay for a subscription to a legit downloading site. I know paying sucks, but it's safer, in general.

Not if you use a Virus checker to check your downloads. I prefer using BitTorrent client BitComet, but Limewire is good for small files.

I'm fortunate to have a good anti-virus program on my computer. Because when I visited that site "Limewire" a couple of weeks ago, My security system warned me right away about spy-ware and virus' contained on that site. When you downloaded that "free" material. You gave them "free" access to your computer.
