Do you buy or not buy a cd based on this information? If so, do you really think explicit lyrics are going to be any different from what your child hears everyday anyway?

I don't pay attention to that sticker. I dont need a bunch of old ladies telling me what my son should hear and that it's going to affect his behavior. I taught and continue to teach him correct behavior and the difference between fantasy, reality, artistic expression and when someone uses shock value to make money. He understands pretty well and never cusses.

it really is a sturdy one! I stay in an exceedingly hippy orientated community- haha, look up evergreen state college, and that i have considered an excellent kind of bumper stickers! maximum are humorous, ecosystem pleasant, and professional-in spite of fricken reason they help. There are some that make me see pink and opt to act out the Towanda! scene from Fried eco-friendly Tomatoes ;). earlier I had children I had one which examine "existence is short don't be a d!ck!" Now I truly have one which states "children should be considered, heard, and believed." ~somewhat? that's humorous! i respect residing in Olympia. We flow to the Farmer's marketplace about two times a month, and attend large Saturday on the school each and every 12 months. This city has large style!!

i'm not a parent...but i know that if a cd has an explicit lyrics or explicit content sticker on it..parental advisory....

my parents will not purchase that cd for me. it kinda sucks...but meh. it's what they do.

i know from experience that i hear foul language anywhere i go. from my friends and people around me. so it's not like i'm not getting it from other places.

some music...yes. that is terrible. but IF it's just foul language..i do not think that is bad..but some music has content that is quite corrupted.

unfortunately..that is from a teenagers point of view...and if you're looking for only adults...i apologize for filling your question board with crap answers.

have a nice day. *smiles, waves, and wanders off*

seriously, half the time it don't make a difference. they are pretty much the same in content anyway. a few words are changed here and there but it really doesn't make a difference weather you buy the ckean version or the explicet version. if I were you since it doesn't make much of a difference, i would go ahead and uy the explicit version.

By the way...this is coming from a kid so please don't discriminate this answer.

when my children were younger i did buy based on content but as they got older it was nearly impossible to control and no i don't think its any different than what they hear everyday but there is a difference in them plugging it in and listening to it 300 times a day through a cd player compared to 25 times a day in school...in saying all that though you have to hope as a parent that the morals you taught your children when they were little will either stick or come back one day....they all go through their rebellious stages (we all did !) and usually come back to their senses once maturity catches up with their hormones

well when I was growing up, i would actually HUNT OUT those stickers and pick those that had that sticker on it as a measure of how "GOOD" it was.

this was before they started checking IDs at the register, and i bought most of my tunes at used CD places

of course, this did not stop my mother from raiding my CD collection one night, yanking out all the albums with the sticker on it...but I had suicidal tendencies at the time

yes.
I am a parent with a son who like Eminem.
DON'T BUY HIS STUFF!
"F" this "kill" that.
This last one has him holding a gun to his own head.
My son bought it on the sly and then was dumb enough to have me listen to it.
I looked through the the jacket inside the Cd and read the lyrics as well as saw the pictures.
He got to watch me distroy the CD.
It's my job as the parent. And he knew this stuff was forbidden.
The so called "cleaned up" versions aren't much better so if you really care, don't give in or back down.
Don't let your kids near this crap!

Doesn't make too much difference. If we keep the language out of the house here, that can be a plus, but they hear it everywhere else.

I think it would depend on what the lyrics were "explicit" about; if it was just swearing(s**t,f**k, etc,) no big deal; if it was sexual in nature, it would depend on how nasty it got,but if it was violence it should be a higher rating, because violence is more harmful than sex.(In case anyone should say, "What about rape?" rape is violence, that involves the sexual organs, not pure sex.)
