This person must be very charismatic. This person must be intelligent so they can poke holes in the ideas they are trying to change. The person must be able to get everyone around them to hear what they are actually saying, not just what others think they are saying. This can be very hard.

Some people have changed the attitudes of people around them by speeches, by writing books, by starting movements, by using music, by scientific advances and by new technology. The examples I can think about are people who changed attitudes for the better.

Martin Luther King, Jr. used his talents from being a Minister to teach what he felt would be the ideal situation for the black skinned people and marched for Civil Rights.

Pete Seeger used his experiences and his music to get people to hear his views about a number of issues, labor unions, civil rights, anti-Vietnam War, pro-human rights, pro-Solar Energy - instead of Nuclear Energy, and to clean the environment.

Thomas Paine wrote a book that others used to justify their fighting against England during the Revolutionary War. There are many others I could name if I think of them.

The catch is people need to be opened up to listen to the ideas before they change their attitudes.

They're a model. People are able to look at them and see qualities that they admire and want to emulate. Charismatic people, and most leaders have the ability to do it. They cause people to become excited about an idea and spur them to action. Excitement and optimism are contagious. People like that make people feel good about themselves and give them hope.
