How do "I" install? Or how does "one" install?
Not knowing the fixture or the reason it needs replacing, your expertise, code issues, or what the fixture is used for,,, I suggest this,,,,,,,,,
I turn the power off,,,to that outlet/receptacle/switch,,, remove the old one,,, and having determined what I need, either go to my own stash or HD/Lowes/Ace,,,,etc. ,,,purchase the appropriate replacement, and cause a miracle to happen.
For a DIY,,I suggest, marking wires,,, or if you know what the fixture is, don't UNINSTALL the old, before having the new, in hand, at the site of the replacement.

go to diy.net.com or get an electrical repair and installation manual at your local library, also you need to know your type of outlets as its different in different countries...above all don't do anything until you are positive you can handle it, if you've never done a installation or repair before its best left to the experts. fi you do decide to try it then the one mistake almost all people make is they forget to cut the power to the outlet they are working on, so do that first and be careful

If you are replacing a plug TURN THE PWER OFF, remove the cover from the wall, unscrew the two screws holding the plug in the wall( usaually old plugs are flat tip slotted screwdrivers)
with Power off remove the wiring on wire at a time
hold the new plug in hand the power side of the new plug will be brassey looking screw
place the same wire on the screw
remove the other wires one at a time
If you are unalbe to tell what wire color is what look very closely at the plug the smaller slot of the plug is the hot side or the one that goes on the brassey looking screw
install in wall and turn pwoer back on plug in a drill or light and check replace cover
