I always say that the best way is to ask very simple questions. These questions are simple when you have nothing to hide but are very difficult when you do have something to hide. Like: Where are you going? Who's going to be there? etc. if you watch Judge Judy, the questions are always very simple but because people try to lie, they are difficult.

Well, the short answer would be, when their lips are moving, they're lying. The real answer is this: Depending on how long you've been married, you should know certain things about your spouse, like how they act when you ask questions, or if you happen to be doing laundry, something falls out of a pocket, and they act fishy when you ask about it. Also, your instincts will kick in and something will not sound quite right. If you know that your spouse has a history of lying to you, just keep asking questions until you are satisfied.

Just trust your instinct and watch their eye contact. If they look away when they are talking to you or seem nervous, they are hiding something. Hope that helps
