Ok. I hate most rap. Can you please explain to me (intelligently please) why I should enjoy your taste in music? What makes you prefer rap over other genres?

This isn't the best forum for discussions, so I will leave you with my reasons why I don't like it.

I will admit to being no sort of expert. All I know of rap is what is on Top 40, and personally, if you judged rock music on Top 40, I would probably dislike rock too.

Some rap is poetry. Some rhythms I've heard are complex and interesting. The popular stuff isn't. It's recycled. It has no message. It is all the rappers rapping about their own egos, admitting openly that they care about getting rich, getting ***, and smoking the reefer. I have nothing against money, sex, or drugs. I just like a little more meaning than that in my music. To me, music is art, and what I see on MTV and BET (in passing, I never watch those channels) is not art. It's filth.

If you wish, feel free to send me a short list of lesser-known rappers with non-religious yet meaningful lyrics and more musical talent than the average 50 Cent. I promise I'll sample it, as long as I haven't heard of them.

Son I thank you so much for that. I don't understand the disrespect about rap music. When you get the chance read my question: Negativity about Rap/Hip-Hop?. When you done give me your response or some type of feed back. if you start to bodied some people for their negative remarks about rap give me a call.

Please...which song did you learn those insults from.

Get a life: Get your own insults and listen to some music. Rap is not music. It's people talking.

I like rap. Well, at least not rap that preaches hatred, which some do.

I dislike jazz. Are you gonna pound me for that?
