animals cat nap ,sleep at many different times
most dogs sleep most of the day and are alert at night
at least dogs that live outside do
birds come around at sunset .like chickens
many animals scavenge around in the early morning and evening ,deer sleep during the day ,hidden under the bushes ,they come around early morning and evening as well
the rule of thumb is usually that the animals are around when their food is
or when their food tastes the best ,like grass full of dew,

and they sleep when it is hot ,or when they cant see

in hotter countries many animals are nocturnal with big eyes, they sleep during the day

in colder countries the opposite

domestic animals have been programmed to follow mans habits, they have little choice in the matter

Depends what animals they are, rabbits wake up at dawn and dusk except some silly rabbits that don't seem to know what time it is that I've seen. Foxes wake up at night, Cats wake up lots of times because they sleep lots.
