There are many who say Americans are not ready for a black president. But what if he's obviously intelligent, and a great speaker? Do you think people can be won over, despite their prejudices and fears? Would you vote for a black president? I ask this, because I think Barack Obama would be an amazing president, even though he has already said that he's not running. I really wish he would, and if he did, I'd hope that most Americans would know how to spot a good man regardless of skin color.

I don't see gender or race as either a qualifying or disqualifying factor. A good president will have the ability to lead from his or her mind and heart for the good of all the people.

Forget parties, forget gender, forget race, forget red state / blue state, forget liberal, forget neocon...

Vote on the issues.

I would most definitely vote for a well spoken, intelligent, qualified candidate - BLACK or white. I agree with you that Barack Obama is very well spoken and could be president...I do not agree with many of his political views but I still have great respect for him...Short answer - YES I would proudly vote for a black president....! By the way I am not black guy, just a white guy who respects intelligent, well spoken, qualified people no matter their race or gender.

I would vote for a black person (man or woman) if I believed they were the most qualified to run the country. It is in the best interest of all people to have a strong leader regardless of their race. I believe that voting for anyone because their appearance gives you assumptions on their policies is wrong. (example) Voting for a woman because you support women's issues is silly unless you actually know where she stands on those issues. Anyone that is being considered to run a nation needs to be highly scrutinized but their skin colour, religion, sex, etc. should not be important to your ultimate decision. *however I am a Canadian, so maybe you didn't want my answer*

i would vote for a black president any day..... only if he didn't have colored glasses on.... which means he to didn't have any prejudices against any other color.. i don't know anything about the man but i do know that some "minorities" are just as predjudice or more as "white" people are.. they just think its excused cause of slavery WAY back in the day.

I would vote for a BLACK president. It just wouldn't be for a liberal like Barack Obama. I would vote for Condi Rice or Colin Powell.

Depends on the person. I'm voting for Lynn Swann for Pennsylvania's next governor. He's a republican, though, so many would not vote for him simply because of that.

Race is not something I consider when I vote. If a person's views are in line with mine they get my vote regardless of race, color, gender, or party.

I would if he or she was a democrat. I think it is time we do just like republicans and fall into party line... they do that... they vote for a repig no matter who it is. We have been trying to be 'fair-minded' way too long. And now look... we are literally in a domestic war for our freedoms and civil liberties.
