i have found my name is earl on MORPHEUS but they are all in avi is avi just the sound

If you are downlaoding video files online, which I of course do not approve of, :) and they are in avi format you will need either a avi player such as DivX, or you will need to install the appropriate codecs in your current media player, eg Windows Media Player or Real Player.
Shared video files are compressed to make them as small as possible without losing too much quality, avi is the most common form. But to view them you need to decompress them, hence the codecs. (COmpressor, DECompressor / COder, DECoder)
Try downloads.com and download Real Player and DivX player (for free), install each and you should be able to watch all your legit downloads no bother. Sounds like hassle I know, but it doesn't take too long and once it's set up you wont need to do anything else, except maybe update your codecs, but thats easy as pie too.

Your player does not have the correct coder/decoder (codec). find out which the file needs and search for it. Better still BUY IT.
