Unable to vent a portable a/c unit - (rental property) - needing something to cool in a humid climate. thanks!

the biggest window unit that runs on 110v is 15000BTU that will do your whole apartment...i am sure would get at least a 12000BTU the sq.ft. is not the only factor...are you a 1st or 2nd story and 3 rooms is harder to cool than one big room fans will help circulate your cool air also appliances put off heat (fridge, dishwasher,washer,dryer,etc) if you try to get a 10000BTU the coil will freeze up due to running all the time the bigger unit will not have to run as much so it will cost you less in the energy.most important is to measure your windows to see if you can fit it...also type of window matters hope you have double hung type and then pick a window that is centrally located. hope ya stay cool

BEST,,as it relates to BRAND, is subjective and relative.

A safe rule to follow is in a range of 500 to 700 sq. ft, it takes an AC unit that is 1 ton. Apply that to BTU's, and or, find a window unit that states the conversion, and but one no less than one ton.
