You have a very valid question. If you look back in US history you will find the answers. The US can ONLY survive if it is involved in a conflict someplace in the world. It does not have to be a full blown WAR although that lends more power and value because it allows the REPUBLICANS to get more funding for the WAR MACHINE! If you notice the ONLY people and companies that prosper during a conflict are Republicans and those companies that provide for the Military in the way of steel, ammunition, weapons etc, etc, etc need I say more. The problem here is that the US was Founded on war ( remember the Land you live on today was taken away from the Indians) Remeber the 4th of July....INDEPENDENCE DAY????? so the US knows no better. The US is a war bound country and always will be. Why is it OK for the US to regulate other countries from getting Neuclear power for their homes and source of energy? There are many such questions. Just look in US History it is all there. Did you know that Geroge Bush voted in an increase in his own personal protection that is 400 times bigger then any in US History and he single handedly put the US back into a RED TAPE spiraling deficet within 6 months of 911! He has spent more money on "WORLD PEACE" protecting the US Shores by finding ways to take the CIVIL RIGHTS of Americans away in the name of HOMELAND SECURITY and the Americans are to buried in Football, 4th of July and partying to care that they have lost what was once printed in the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES!

Because the Bush administration has an ulterior motive: world domination. Smaller countries are beginning to consider nuclear weapons as their only defense against the Earth's newest "evil empire" - the United States of America.

Like a bully that finally has to be taken down, Bush and his corrupt Congressional cronies will eventually be eradicated - if not through violence and civil disorder, then through the voting process in 2008 (however, don't put it past Bush to fake a terrorist attack just before the election so that he can impose martial law and continue being "king").
The U.S.A., remember, is the ONLY nation ever to use a nuclear weapon against another country. So, all of Bush's warnings about the "evil empires" is nothing more than paranoia. We should be afraid: afraid that eventually some little guy named David will stand up against the big bully Goliath and slay the giant U.S.A.
Bush has tarnished our image as a world leader and global peacekeeper. We are viewed by most other countries around the world as nothing more than a big bully - and these little guys aren't going to take it much longer. -RKO-

I agree with you on all causes except the bombing on serbia the serbian military was commiting genocide or ethnic cleansing on Bosnian muslims and the European nations would not intervene so America did a good thing in that bombing and that is saving people who were being brutally murdered by stopping the Serb armies.

If we were unwilling to fight abroad then the peace we have at home would quickly be replaced by you being dragged out of your house to be castrated and enslaved as a field hand, your mother would be a house slave and your unbroached (virgin)female kin would become sexual property. (All recommended in the Koran) Our land would be squabbled over by various kinds of heathens and our legacy to Western Civilization would be that we gave it all up out of cowardice.
The Chinese could meet the Muslims somewhere near Nebraska.

Well, I know most Americans don't like to hear this but we want to police the world. If we do that we have power over them.
Its called the big stick policy, 'my stick is bigger than yours' theory and it works very well. ...Ted Roosevelt popularized and Reagan used it against the Soviets. The big stick policy asserts U.S. domination when such dominance is considered the moral imperative.
