Do you mean the Philippines?

If you are this is where:

The Philippines constitutes an archipelago of 7,107 islands with a total land area of approximately 300,000 square kilometres (116,000 sq. mi). It lies between 116° 40' and 126° 34' E. longitude, and 4° 40' and 21° 10' N. latitude, and borders the Philippine Sea on the east, on the South China Sea the west, and the Celebes Sea on the south. The island of Borneo lies a few hundred kilometers southwest and Taiwan directly north. The Moluccas and Sulawesi are to the south, and Palau is to the east beyond the Philippine Sea.

Its in Asia - about a 14 hours flight from Los Angeles, 8 from Hawaii. Unlike the nerd who used Wikipedia, I have been there and own businesses there. It is a poor yet beautiful country and the women there are all that and a bag of chips! Our money goes a very long way there and you can have a blast there inexpensively. The customs are conservative and the people are respectful, polite and loving. We in the U.S.A. could learn a lot from these generous and loving people. If you ever get a chance to go there, I suggest you do so as you will never regret it.
