They qualified, didn't they? They have skilled players and they should have an equal chance. Granted, they didn't do much with that chance, but give them a break!!

Guys the name of the tournament is WORLD CUP!!!
If the US qualify then they can play surely!?!
If you only want European countries to play then keep it in Europe. I would of thought that you Americans who have posted in the negative would relish the chance of getting more exposure of the sport in your country so that more people will take it up.
Again, if they weren't good enough they wouldn't have qualified.

The main reason is because if you look at every other sport, USA is among the top best. But when you look at soccer, they still rank good, but are not among the top best. I do think soccer will become big in the USA, but it's going to take some time. The sport has grown dramatically in the last 10 years and will keep growing as the years go. Now that they have MLS and that league is growing I think they have a better chance on making the sport even bigger. There are always going to be people in the USA that do not like soccer, but there are people all over the world that do not like sports. Like look at NASCAR, I am from the USA and I think that sport is the stupidest sport ever! who the h*ll wants to sit in a chair all day and watch cars drive in a circle??? If the USA makes it to the world cup, then they have every right to be there. You don't make it to the world cup because your team sucks..... think about it.

Regardless if it's not a popular sport in America. Any country in the world that qualifies for the World Cup finals deserves to be there.
Imagine if the Americans sporting attentions switched to Football. The size of their population, and the money they could spend on the best coaches, they could win the World Cup.

Team USA stinks, I always hope that they never qualify and if they do hope that they are eliminated in the first round.

They do not deserve a break, because soccer, I mean futball is not accept as a sport here in America, less than 5% of the population in USA do enjoy it the rest dislike it with a passion

Sure they deserve to play....football is a world sport, but for some reason the US population doesnt put much interest into it....The thing is that for other countries that is their main sport and passion and almost all kids play football, or watch it, etc and there is always a star that rises. While in the states, baseball, football, hockey, etc are their main sports...I guess they just don´t have the passion as the other countries do.

The U.S. does deserve a chance, but they can't do anything with that chance like you said. Yes, they do have skilled players but thats not good enough. They need great team work, a great coach, and drive.

Because they call it Soccer for God's sake. Every other country calls it Football, I mean it makes sense to call it Football since you use your foot to kick the ball for 90 minutes.

And what's up with American "Football", why all the gay padding? Ever watched a Rugby game? If those players don't wear padding why should American "Football" players?

If Americans spent more time playing proper sports perhaps they wouldn't be so bad at them. ;b
