"A small number of donors may become light-headed during or immediately after donating plasma. Some donors may experience a slight bruising at the site of the needle placement.
Plasma is quickly replaced by the body, normally within 24 hours. A person may donate no more than 2 times every 7 days with at least a 1 day interval between donations."
Now for the stuff they won't tell you on their official sites:
After being a donor for over a year, sometimes twice a week regularly--I became pregnant. (no, obviously NOT from donating!) I had been getting ill quite a bit before then, and not maintaining a healthy diet to boot. When I went in for my emergency Cesarean 5 weeks Pre-term, my blood was too thin. I had to have a Platelet transfusion, or I would bleed to death as they delivered my sweet angel baby.
The hematologist said that I had given too much plasma likely, and it had thinned my blood. The irony of course was that because of people donating plasma, I lived to be here today.
Moral: eat well, re-hydrate well, donate when you feel well enough and not when you don't.

there are no health risk generally to donating blood or blood products unless you already have severe health problems. a little tired and occasionally a woozy feeling directly after donating that will pass with a meal and something sweet to drink. you may donate every 8 weeks if healthy. that is how long it takes for you body to replenish

It shouldnt have any negative effects ASSUMING that you are a healthy individual and your body will be able to create more for yourself. 8 weeks is the tme you should wait before donating again, unless told otherwise.

if you are poorly dehydrated, it will take a very long time to donate, if at all,
also if you don't have enough protien in your system, it can lead to a shortage of muscle building.
as a suggestion: Eat a steak/ wgg breakfast with lots of water about 30 minutes before you donate .
