Right now I am thinking of going into animation or video game design but not sure if it is going to be a big mistake. I guess I may have a fear of moving forward in life and self doubt that is making it hard to decide wether its a good idea or not. Any advice will help thank you.

It's not always an easy thing to do, but you know what you really want in life. You should't be fearful of moving forward because if you sit still, the world and your dreams will fly by you faster than you can imagine.

Go for the internet business which require less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business where all the things are automated. Third, choose the business which does not require big money to start it.

I'm an industrial designer and had much of the same difficulties when I was deciding on a career path. From my experience, design (I've heard this from video game designers as well) can be really rewarding but takes up a lot of your life. Often you will work a lot of overtime, have a lot of stress and monetary compensation is often not as high as other career choices. The work environment can often be a fun one where you meet lots of interesting people.

Really though, my best advice is to assess what's important to you in life. Think about what you want overall not just in a career. Do you want time to spend with friends and family, do you want financial security, do you mind relocating often. Careers affect all aspects of our life and the big picture needs to be considered. Don't just look at the job but also how it fits into your priorities.

And don't stress about your choices either, nothing in life is written in stone and your path can always meander in unexpected ways.

Good luck!

Most of us have self doubts at some time. Many people change careers several times during their lifetimes so multiple skills can be very important in moving on. I would check with a career counselor to see what careers are available for your interests. Follow you bliss. As your interests change, learn more and become more skilled so you are always an asset.
