Don't use the sun. Cancer! Find another way.
If you MUST use the sun, it depends on the altitude of where you live. And even tho you want a tan, use a sunscreen to keep from burning.

No one has informed you of the harmful effects of the sun. Sun damage can alter your DNA and give you skin cancer. Avoid the Sun at all costs, get one of those fake tan thingies.

30 minutes is just enough and just to let you know if you are black or you have darker skin you are less likely to get skin cancer and most the time it is hereditary. But if you have any dark spot put alot of sunscreen in that area to even out your skin.

Its it cheaper to go to the store and buy a bottle of gradual sunless tanner and use that every morning that to pay for chemo, hospital stays, ect. that you will have to pay for when you get skin cancer? Wear ATLEAST SPF 30 every day, and invest in a good sunless tanner that you can build up gradually. Beautiful bronze color without the damage.

Protect your face and then go w/o sunscreen on each side for 20 minutes at least 4 days a week.
More if you are naturally darker.
Less time if you are naturally lighter.
