Maybe because it's more convenient. And also I think that rejection is taken a little bit better by a person you may have never met.

Because it gives you access to so many people you may probably never meet. Why limit yourself to the people you come into contact with on a daily basis. The perfect person could live right around the corner from you but you may never know if you do not show up at the right place at the right time. I have met some great people on the web.

because they can connect with people they might never meet in other places too far to travel. also if it doesn't work out it's easier to end a relationship with a person you've never really met.

Idk...But i think they like having relationships over the internet because over the internet they can be whoever they want to be.
