If it's suppose to be 50/50. You can both pay the bills and share them. But if it's like one person works(husband?) and the wife stays @ home, maybe the wife should pay the bills and handle the money or maybe the husband should handle the money since he's the one who works. You two should sit down and work it out. It's all on what yall want to do.

It will depend on the couple and what they decide. It can go either way, or perhaps both will take care of making sure the bills are paid. Generally, whomever is more detail oriented and punctual is the best person to handle bills and checkbook balancing.

I handle all the money and pay all the bills...My hubsand and myself , daughter share a house with a Good friend and he has a son, they work at the same place and every friday they hand me thier checks...I pay the bills , buy the food and give them back what is left...we all live good. My husband would spend all his check in a day if I didnt handle it lol

Whoever does it best. But you should share the information and talk together about the finances regardless of who does this. This could be a power and control issue. If one handles the money then they have the power. Be sure to share the financial responsibility and it should be based on gender.

both i would think. I believe that husband and wife should NOT have joined bank accounts because that seems to cause about 50% of divorces. They should just split the bills between them.

Both parties should participate in the bill paying process. That way there are no lies and deceat going on with the common money.

well in my family i do. i would love for him to take over but i'm not sure i could handle not knowing what is going on, what is being paid on time what isnt and how much money we have. but i do think that if both parties can handle it the hubby should.

In my house, I do it, my husband hasn't deducted anything from the checkbook since 2003. Plus I am an accountant so I am a little better at money that he is. (he's a welder).

one should be designated for the actual paying of bills but in a good relationship all budgets should be discussed between both parties
