what is the cheapest way to get to the grand canyon from vegas?

We're 21 so to rent a car is very expensive as most car companies only rent to 25 or older. the companies who will rent to us charge by the mile. any affordable alternatives?

Well, you could rent a car for about 30-50$ per day if you book in advance, otherwise there are dozens of tour operators who offer this tour, but prices vary because it will probably include other stops and maybe an overnight....Google it!

The cheapest and best way to get there is by car, even with the high gas prices. Its a 5 hour drive each way on a mostly two lane road with trucks and campers. If you leave Vegas at about 6 or 7:00Am you can get there by noon and have 4 or 5 hrs to browse before heading back about 5 or 6 nd get back to Vegas before midnight. If you have 3 or 4 people, pay the extra for the rental car. A bus trip will be about $90. each.

there are only 2 possibilities:
you can fly on either Scenic or another carrier from the terminal located across the street from the Motel 6 on Tropicana- NW corner of the airport
get the first flight in and the last flight out, use the no frills package
cost around $225 per person -great flight though . flying time around an hour each way
You can take the greyhound to flagstaff and then take the Nava-Hopi bus lines -520 -774 5003 -to the S. Rim due to schedule conflicts plan on spending a night in Flagstaff a really nice Rt66/ college town- lot of cheap eats and lodgings
cost per person around $180

Rent-the-car if you have at least 4 persons in the group. Hertz has pretty good deal from time to time.

We joined the day trip 2 months ago which cost US$89/person. I didn't enjoy the view to the fullest as the bus driver was rushing us.... it's a shame....
