i'm not sure what the equation is. the way you typed it is ambiguous. i'll include answers for the three ways what you typed could be interpreted.

1) (4^x)*2 = 2^x
4^x = 2^(x-1)
4^x = 4^((x-1)/2)
x = (x-1)/2
2x = x-1
x = -1

2) 4^(2x) = 2^x
4^(2x) = 4^(x/2)
2x = x/2
4x = x
3x = 0
x = 0

3) 4^(x^2) = 2^x
4^(x^2) = 4^(x/2)
x^2 = x/2
x^2 - x/2 = 0
x(x - 1/2) = 0
x=0 or x=1/2

Hi There. Try x=0. Remember that anything to the power of 0 is 1. Hence, 4^0 = 1 and 2^0 = 1.

Hope this helps.

ln(4^x^2) = ln(2^x) <=>
x^2 * 2ln2 = x ln 2 <=>
2* x^2 = x <=>
x*(2x-1) = 0 <=>
x1 = 0;
x2 = .5;

well...
we have
4 ^ x² = 2 ^ x
then
4 ^ x² = 4 ^ x/2
so x² = x/2
2 x² - x = 0
x ( 2x -1 ) = 0
then
x = 0
OR 2x - 1 =0
x = 1/2
so x Є { 0 , 1/2 }
