The Statue was completed in France in July 1884. It was broken down into 350 pieces and packed into 214 crates and shipped on the frigate Isere. Workers built the Pedestal here and finished it in April 1886. Once the statue arrived, they reassembled it onto the pedestal in about four months, and the Statue of Liberty was officially dedicated October 28, 1886.
