Of course you'll be welcome mate, as long as you dont have an attitute that I've encountered when Im down south from the English that you're Gods gift to the rest of the UK. Stirling is an excellent choice, like anywhere it has its crummy bits, but in the main, its one of thebest locations in the UK. Check out the town centre, the castle, the wallace monument and the Uni. Definatly do a pub/hotel crawl in the Bridge of Allan

i moved from Kent to Dundee area 4yrs ago. Was a bit of a culture shock. Weather really sucks too, even today hotest day in the rest of uk, its been raining here 2days non stop. If u love rain you are doing the right thing. Also i found some racism, Some in Dundee . Even if u r friendly and a nice person. After 4yrs ive had enough of the weather and moving too u.s. When you also first walk into a bar/pub for the first time and hear the noise and loud talking scottish accent can be scary too. But scotland is lovely and most ppl are fine.....

Depends. Seems to be alot of anti-english stuff going on at the moment, but it might improve now we're not in the world cup. Apart from one or two idiots I've never had any real problems there. Btw I keep seeing the word neds what exactlly does that mean?

I lived in Edinburgh for a couple of years, lovely city. lovely people... but you will get some Racism... I came back because of the racism my kids got at school... i can take it, they don't deserve it... As nice as it can be, i went to Scotland as a British person, when I came back I was defiantly ENGLISH and now will never be British again...

I was stationed in Dunoon, Scotland in the 80's when I was in the Navy. The Scots are great people and very friendly.

I know this sounds stupid but before I move anywhere I would check the post code and do an inurance quote - check the difference. Because where my cous lived his insurance was £300 more where he lived compared to where I live.
