Dean R Koontz is a wonderful writer! He writes stories that you just can't put down and even though they are in the 'horror' section, they aren't dark like Stephen King. His characters are interesting and quirky. His scariest is INTENSITY.

Some of the best ones I've read of his are the recent:
Life Expectancy - I loved this book
and the Frankenstein series - vol 1 and 2.
I've read all of his books with the exception of about 5 or so. He is one of the most underrated talents in writing. You won't want to put down his stories.

and I love when he makes a dog a central character, you can tell he really is a dog fan.

in fact, he co-wrote a book for kids with his dog, Trixie!

I love DRK!

I guess Odd THomas and the sequel, I havent read, but everything else is top quality.

If you are new to DRK, start with Life Expectancy and the new book he has out in paperback with a yellow cover. It's also excellent.

Happy reading!

Dean Koontz is my favorite author right now.
My top 4 books read last year were by Dean Koontz.
#1 Intensity
#2 The Face
#3 The Taking
#4 Velocity
other really good novels by Koontz: Life Expectancy, Tick Tock, Dark Rivers of the Heart, and Dragon Tears. I haven't read the Odd Thomas or Forever Odd yet. The library has The Husband so I will be reading it soon. Thanks for passing the word on Dean Koontz. So many people overlook him. Stephen King gets all the press but Koontz is better in my opinion.
Also try Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child. Relic and the sequel Reliquary are excellant as well as Riptide. Jack Ketchum's Off Season and Off Spring were pretty scary. Happy Reading.

Never read his stuff but plan to. I'm hooked on James Patterson's Alex Cross series. Currently reading Four Blind Mice. I've read all the Dan Brown, Tom Clancy, Michael Connelly and John Grisham stuff.

I've read many of his books. My favourite book is The Door to December. It is an old book I read it almost ten years ago. Your local library should be able to help you find. I think it is his best work. Although I haven't read anything new that he has written.
