I get a few, I am a FREAK about air fresheners. Here is what I use:
At walmart they have blue ones and and apple scented one in little pots, with gray lids..they are .98 cents each. Smell GREAT, just keep doors closed.

Also, I use Linen carpet fresh type stuff. I put it down and leave it for a few hours, then vac.

I also get Yankee Candles and cut them up, cotton/linen scent for me...or vanilla...then melt them in a warmer. SOOOOO great.

I prefer food or linen scents because they are more 'clean' and homey than orange or pine is for me.

I almost forgot... SKIP Fabreeze! Find a LAUNDRY RINSE you like and put about 1/3 to 2/3 parts water in a spray bottle. Then spray curtains, carpets, other materials like couch. It smells GREAT and it's the same thing as fabreeze, plus you get softer carpets!

Anyone from Bath and Bodyworks. I like the Maple or Caramel scents that they come out with during the Christmas holiday season.

I like plain ol' baking soda. At 33 cents a box it's affordable. You can set dishes of it out to catch cigarette smells, sprinkle it onto your carpet and furniture before vacuuming, or you can make pastes with it and use like a stain stick on smelly clothing before washing it.
