i think he has been a brill captain but he has now decided he has had his time and it is now the time to give someone else their time as captain. i think steve should give it to either john terry or gary neville.
becks has been a gud captain.

Of course it's renovation time, England has a new manager in Steve McClaren. David Beckham didn't even deserve the captaincy in the first place and this finally gives an actual leader the job of captain, John Terry or Steven Gerrard.

The way things were going, McClaren would probably have given it to someone else anyway.
Becks probably realised this and made his job easier.
Sven's probably been in the difficult position of knowing Becks hasn't been the no.1 choice captain for a while now, but also knowing removing it from him would probably hurt the team a lot too.
Terry for captain. That guy's a defensive animal!

You meant "heard", right? Yeah, Beckham should concentrate even more on taking shots to be on the cover of magazines instead of captain of England.

He didnt resign from the team, he resigned as captain. He said he wanted to stress his desire to continue to play for England.
