That's a hard one that you may never know the answer to. I had a similar situation a few years back. I live in Utah and it is an At-Will state...meaning they can fire you at will for any reason, any time, no questions asked. I am not sure where you live but you may have some rights. Most people I know can't afford an attorney, but if you take a look at the website below, not only will you find an avenue to talk to a great attorney about this and other things, there is a business opportunity involved as well. To work the business though, you do have to be 18 years old. Take a look and email me with any question you may have.
Good luck.

Based on what you told us, I suspect it had something to do with "his daughter thinking you were funny." You were not hired to be a comedian. Just for the record, when you get hired, focus on what you are paid to do. Once you have been around at lease past your probation period (usually 90 days), then you an loosen up a bit. Becoming too familiar early on a job yields negative results.
If you've been there only three weeks, you can ask your boss, but he can just fire you without cause. Legally.
Wish you well in your next job.
You can write a letter to your boss, letting him know that you appreciate the opportunity that he gave you for the three weeks. Then you can ask him if he would mind if you use his name as a reference.
I wish you the best.
********************************************************************
Maybe you weren't fired. Maybe you are a victim of a new reality show. Play along.

You're asking us to read your boss' mind, and none of us can do that. The only one who can tell you for sure is your boss himself. Why not talk to him and rather than confronting him by asking "why did you fire me?" you can frame it in a more positive way, that won't put him on the defensive. You can say something like "I know that this job didn't work out for me, but I was wondering if you could give me some constructive tips on how to improve myself, so I don't make the same mistakes in my next job." Good luck!

because you are a thief, you did not take your boss seriosly and made him look like a fool, you came to work late, too busy joking around and saying rotten things about the boss behind his back, the people you think are your friends spread rumors about you which got you fired which in turn gets them more hours and bigger paycheck.Never trust your co workers they are trying to get something on you. These are some of the reasons that would get a person fired. The boss wanted more work time for a family member.

No idea, but I think you have a right to know just in case you need to change something before taking your next job. It sounds like you did very well, and it's awful that you'd be unfairly fired, possibly unfairly affecting you future employment prospects. You need to get a straight answer about "not what we are looking for" means and consider getting help to see if any of your rights have been violated.

Could be any number of reasons. Maybe even one that someone else has already posted. My suggestion is to go back to him. Tell him you aren't looking to be rehired, but his input on why he let you go would be of great assistance to you in your search for further employment. Tell him you value his opinion. Hopefully, this will get you an open and honest answer that you can put to practical use in your job search. Good luck.

When you were hired on, was there any sort of probation period?
If so, they yes, he can fire you at any time during that period.
If not, then he has to have a valid reason for terminating your employment. If he can't come up with one, then he's at fault and is in a bad way (legally).

You should ask him or his daughter. Maybe the store was just broke and needed to let someone go. The good news is maybe you can get unemployment money now.

if you did a good job and you do not see a reason why you were fired, you should talk to your boss. if he still does not want you to work there,i suggest you file for discrimination because i do not see any reason why he would fire you. seems like he singled you out which is discrimination.
