What are the good things about Affirmative Action?

The best thing that Affirmative Action does is to allow minorities that have an equivalent resume to a majority to be picked over the majority. In the past, everybody hired like people. If your company was white, they hired white. If it was black they hired black. With Affirmative Action, ideally it places sex (male/ female), color, racial background, and age aside so that everyone is competing on skills alone.
