Try a another detergent and also try using a rinse agent like Jet Dry. Also, it could be due to hard water. Do you get yellow stains in the tub close to the faucet (evidence of hard water)? Try Lemishine. It is a product that cleans the dishwasher from lime, rust and mineral buildups which could be a culprit for the stains on your dishes. Is your silverware stainless steel or silver? If it is silver use Haggerty's or Wrights's silver polish to remove tarnish. If it is stainless use white vinegar or club soda with a soft cloth and polish. Check out the sites below and I hope this helps.

Your dishes, I don't know what's wrong with them.

But your silverware is mostlikely tarnished. You just need to get some cleaner made for silver and polish it.

Sounds like rust. Perhaps the tray you arrange the dishes in is rusty in areas? Or your cookie sheets/pans are rusty. They will put rust on everything else.
