I usually start out my journal talking about who I am at that point, my interests, goals, things like that. But after that, I just write in what happened that day. I usually write a lot though. I write the good things, bad things, ok things, just about everything. Sometimes I even write some poetry I've written in there. It just all depends on the person. You can put whatever you want in there. I know one of my old ones I put pics of my best friends in there and wrote some things about them. You can also write anything that's going on in the world, or anything you're troubled about. I wrote a letter to my friend who had passed away in there. It's just basically up to you. Like the other person said, it's almost as if you are talking to someone about your problems. Good luck and happy writing!

It depends on the day.. sometimes its a simple recount of what I did.. sometimes its an emotional entry based on a memory or something that happened that day.
If you are having trouble getting started, I suggest starting a gratitude journal.. just write down 5 things each day that you are thankful for... it seems silly and simple, but it helps keep you in check on the good things in life... :)
Then you can go from there!

Just write down what happened that day. Write down any good things and any bad things. Writting a journal is like talking about your problems with someone. It's a way to help vent.

To get started each day, just list three things that you are grateful for. That gets you started putting pen to paper and then it just flows from there.
It also is a good way to train yourself to look for the good things in life. Even if it's a bad day, there are some good moments. For instance, if your best friend hurt your feelings, you could still put down, "I'm glad I didn't start crying when Candi said my hair looked terrible." Then you will just naturally continue by describing what happened.
