Would the person still engage in circadian rhythms and would their bodies cease to age and would they be able to function and exist? Is light or uv radiation in particular necessary to exist or can it be removed and the cycle of life persist, if the necessary physical elements that are given from light are accomplished in another form or is that even possible? I have heard somewhere that without the effect of uv that your body would not age and supposidly pre-historic man(genesis time frame when people lived longer) lived longer b/c his exposure to light was different.

yeah. without UV we would live longer. man nowadays had already deviced ways to make an alternative for the sun w/o the UV radiation. so i could say we're still okay.

The reactions are numerous. Firstly, blindness occurs. Also, the circadian rhythm is disrupted though not lost. The body still ages though certain damages from the sun are not experienced such as great loss of skin elasticity. Artificial light can be used to counter those effects. Artificial light is used to help with jet lag. Vitamin D production would be influenced, though I am uncertain of how. Other than diseases related to sunlight such as skin cancer, little change would be seen in life span since vitamin supplements are available.

Early conditions of Earth had lower levels of uv rays as well as other climate conditions. A water vapor canopy enveloped the Earth and created a super Terrarium. A unified climate, no clouds no seasons. The water went into the atmosphere in the day and condensed at night just like a terrarium. The atmospheric pressure was much heavier.so it could drive O2 into the Largest of Dinosaurs more efficiently. The absence of light would not allow a human to live very long in his physical state.

The blind live and enjoy life - most of your question answered right there.

Early man died as he got out of his teens - you heard wrong.

Whilst UV can age skin most of us do not get overdosed with it so the general effect is not particularly harmful. Without light humans would eventualy evolve into albinos.

Since sunlight is required for the body to make vitimin D, total darkness would require humans to eat a diet high in that.

You said an "absoloute absence of light"....so everyone who said anything about "blindness" is irrelivent to start with, as blind people are obviously still exposed to light, although they cannot see *sighs*.

One reaction that would happen that I know of is sensory deprevation.....this occurs when people are locked in a dark room, i.e. solitary confinement....
