the reason could be a number of ploblems, and on your connection type.
1. too many cookies.
2.a slow connection.
3.your security settings.
4.number of items running in the background.
too many cookies causes the system to jam up.
slow connection...enough said.
security settings block access to and from the system.
the items in the task bar at the bottom right fo the screen function while you do other things, too many and the system processes slow down.
on the other hand it could be a number of things that have infected your system.
some viruses cause the syetm to multiply the processes the system is doing an will cause the system to slow down a lot.
go off line and run a cookie cleaner,(unless you know how yourself), run your anti-virus, and adware and spyware protectors.
the version of windows makes a difference also.

If you download stuff, or go on weird websites with lots of popups (such as porn), it downloads viruses that severely slow your computer. Another possibility is that you hard drive is too full. Maybe invest in an external hard drive. Or you could just have dialup. Get DSL.

Your provider must not be good or your computer can't run fast enough for the type of service you have.
