Some jellyfish have nematocysts (stinging organelles) on the bell. Carybdeid cubozoans (including Carukia barnesi) do. However, the bottom of your foot is highly callused and I've never heard of anyone stung through a callused area. (I've handled some pretty narsty jellyfish with the palms of my hands, which is fine, but if they flip onto the thinner skin on the backs of your hands and fingers... OW!)
I think it would depend on where you stepped on it. If on the beach, you'd probably squash it. If in the water, maybe it would kind of shoof off to one side. I wouldn't go trying unless you've got a wetsuit and booties!

Stepping on the head of a jellyfish will kill the jellyfish and not you. The " head part" of the jellyfish that you are speaking of is actually the "bell". The tentacles of the jellyfish are what contain the stinger section. As long as you don't touch the tentacles, stepping on the bell will kill the jellyfish. Most jellyfish are not lethal to humans, but there are a few species that are highly toxic. One is these species, Carukia barnesi, is suspected in two deaths in Austrailia.

If you wear shoes, it would just kill the jellyfish. Otherwise it depends on if you get stung or not

It wouldn't hurt you at all, it might scare you but not hurt you. You would do more harm to that jellyfish than it would do to you. Now if you touched the tenticles that's a different story.

The dangerous part of the jelly fish is up under it's belly. Should it get on it's back with its belly up and you step on it that could be a real problem. Be careful in handling them too.
