It could be a paranormal thriller, or a regular, murder-ish type thrill with no ghosts, or just a flat out horror movie. I want some new movies to watch and would rather know your fave thrillers than horror movies. However, a horror movie with not too much gore (gets boring after a while...) and more suspense'd be good. That disgustin, chainsaw massacre stuff gets boring...and disgusting after a while, not really, truly scary.
Mine:
1.) The Grudge and The Japanese version of it
2.) What Lies Beneath
3.) The Others

I thought Scream was fantastic. When it came out there hadn't been a lot of movies like that made in a while. I also think Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window and Black Lace are great thrillers. And I agree the gory chainsawy freddy krueger type movies get boring and typical after a while. Though the very first Halloween movie was truly frightening. Just the music and the fact that Jaimie Lee Curtis could feel someone watching her....creepy.

The movie with Sigourney Veaver "The eighth passenger" is the movie that scared me a lot and till now when I remember it I feel scary! If you didn't watch it till now, go ahead and get some nightmares...It has three parts, I, II, III and recently I've heard that they are going to make the fourth part with the scary (dirty) creature when it comes from that planet (I can't remember the name) into earth! It's a great movie and it makes you stucked with the TV till the movie ends and you will still feel like you are watching it.. you will really feel like you are a part of the actors in the movie, a lot of suspense during all the movie and it makes you guess most of the things wrong or right!!!!

Well, I reccomend Red Eye. Amazing movie, it isn't horror at all! It's just a thriller and murdur-ish. It sucked me in FULL-time and not many movies can do that to me. Flightplan might not be scarrryyy but it was thrilling, so that is a reccomendation too!

Good luck on your choice of movie!

the Other was pretty good. My favorite horror movies: The Exorcism of Emily Rose, really good, Nightmare on Elm Street, the first, Poltergist I and II, Saw, and so on. Except for Saw and NOES, they are PG and PG-13 oriented. And you said you don't like too much gore? Stay away from NOES and Saw but Saw, the first one, isn't too bad on gore.

in case you get Turner classic video clips, considered one of my favorites is going to be shown on Thursday, 10 June at 8:00 PM. this is Black and White and is in French. So there will be subtitles. yet once you like the horror/secret kind, you ought to truly see this one. you will by no ability seem at bathtubs interior an identical way as quickly as you notice this one.
