I just read an article about how it costs 1.2c to produce each penny. Pennies hold almost no monetary value. The only value they have is that they depict Abe Lincoln's profile and that seems to be sort of like a small memorial to him.

So should pennies stay or should they go?

Would it be that drastic a change if you paid $3.00 for an object that once cost $2.97?

they should stay or it could mess up the prices on everything, because everything would have t be rounded up or down depending on the item. and pennies do add up so i think they should absolutly stay

STAY!
Think about it!...It probably then cost 5.1cent to produce a nickel.
A penny allows you to make the exact change down to the pennyI have to agree with daljack.....Price would then go up. Is that what everyone wants?

If they did all prices would have to be raised to the nearest nickel because you wouldn't be able to get change. What would you do for a food item @ $2.97? It presents a dilemma

They should go. Overseas, facilities rarely use them b/c of the cost to send them back to the states is not conducive to the overall cost. C-YA!!

They should continue to mint them, because they are necessary in order to pay in exact change.
