No they shouldn't be banned. Its an American tradition to shoot off fireworks on Independence day. But sadly enough some extreme group will eventually get them banned (and not because of injuries....just because they are patriotic).

No way, on the 4th of July people should be able to express their freedom by blowing things in the air and being loud. Yes i know that there are those that hurt themselves, but be responsible, that is all you have to do and things will be fine.... We are always looking for bigger and better fireworks, can't wait til next year...

Despite the risk, fireworks should not be banned. People just need to have some responsibility when shooting them.

Fireworks are traditionally a sign of celebration in many countries and should be a major part. In China, fireworks explode every day for births, marriages, and in memory of ancestors. Why should they be banned for a National Holiday?

Having driven THROUGH a forest fire, I think you ought to have a license to use fireworks like you have to have to get a gun or drive a car.
They're dangerous, but can be used safely, therefore there ought to be some sort of safeguard to protect people.
On the 4th I saw children kicking lighted fireworks on the ground right in front of their parents and nobody did anything.
That's just not right!

Anything that can bring about some happiness to people without hurting anyone should never be banned, but yes having fireworks irresponsibly should be banned.

Fireworks should be banned from the general public for individual safety and the safety of others. Personally, I don't care if someone blows their own hand off with an large firecracker. I'm more afraid they'll hurt an innocent bystander. I've seen it happen.

I love fireworks. They should sell class A fireworks again. Class C sucks. But I get around by buying Bird Bombs. There extremely loud and are used at my local airport to control the birds on the runway. I know someone who works there that sells them to me.

I agree wholeheartedly -what would the 4th of July be without the so-called "rocket's red glare",so to speak? Cancel fireworks? No way! That seems so un-American to this cool dude!-Steve
