Paramount Pictures contacted my ISP (Adelphia) because I was "stealing" films. With a proxy server, it masks my IP and disguises it with the IP of the proxy server. When I go to sites that display my IP address, rather than being my actual IP it is disguised. Will film companies/music corporations be able to see where I'm downloading from? Thank you for your responses.

It is possable to mask yourself well enough to keep from getting caught downloading movies illegally, however the Movie industry has spent millions and continue to spend millions in order to keep you from doing so, they have many ISP's intimidated through threats of legal action and so these ISP's have taken it upon themselves to assist in catching you, their customer and violate your privacy by monitoring your internet usage. I am not fond of this practice. However I dont condone theft of any sort the practice of downloading software and music and even movies has been found to increase sales especially software, ask any shareware writer whether internet distribution of their software helped or hurt sales, the biggest problem with illegal downloads comes from people who download the movie then make copies of it for sale.
All of that said to address your desire to be anonymous in your downloads is many faceted, personally i would locate and download software designed to do this and route my traffic through several layers of routing, or in the case of P2P software if you do not share you cannot get caught, the proof of your downloads comes from them uploading it from you. A thing to note though the FCC regulations state that it is not a crime to receive an transmission in the clear ie. unencrypted and make use of it, therefore when you download an unencrypted movie you have received a clear transmission and have committed no crime, when however you take that same copyrighted material and transmit it in the clear to others you violate the copyright. and commit a crime in so doing.

If it's on their site you should be able to download it without breaking a law.The Internet is a telephone call.It would be against the law to charge for a movie that would be provided as a download. You would end up paying the phone company something like a trillion dollars a minute because that's what the Federal government would charge the phone company for land/satellite use.The Internet has to be a FREE SERVICE.

Proxies can give out your IP Address. The safest way to do this is to connect through an anonymous network like Tor or I2P.

Proxy does not conceal your ip and if they claim to-they are lying. Stop stealing things before you go to jail with BIG fines and get a criminal record.

i'm getting complications on the cinemas. three-D videos provide me complete on migraines. there is merely no get away from those large reflects proper in my face, jerking from image to image and worst nonetheless shaky filming makes me opt to vomit. i have got here across sitting as far back contained in the target market as accessible helps. And taking a liquid advil earlier the action picture starts helps. If it really is a three-D action picture, I take extra ability earlier the action picture starts and a second one halfway by the action picture. My decision is to in person-friendly words no longer to flow to the cinema. humorous, i visit take care of a lengthy nighttime in a club or at a live performance with music so loud my skin vibrates to the beat. i do not get action disease. yet cinemas are painful.

You shouldn't be download things like that. If I were you, getting a warning, I would stop doing it all together. You shouldn't risk getting fined with $250,000 and up to 5 years in prison and that's not including if the corp. sues you. Re-evaluate your situation and your life and get your prioties straight.
