1st, save it in Bitmap
2nd, save the same photo again with the same name
3rd, go to the space where you can change the name of the photo, go to the right and click it
you will notice that it will show the name of the picture with its format (ex. xxxxxxx.xxx)
What you have to do is change the format to JPEG
ex. xxxxx.xxx to xxxxxxx.jpg

Hope this can help.

You're using image editing software to modify your photo's? It will offer to save as a bitmap, because a jpeg is a lossy compression format. You can't keep opening up an image, changing a bit, then saving because every time you save the image gets compressed.
Finish working on your image then see if your program has a 'save for web' option; that will offer to save as a jpeg automatically. But it might not manage a really big file.

If you're using Internet Explorer, try going up to the top menu line, click on Tools, then Internet Options, then click on Delete Files, put a checkmark in the box that says Delete all offline content, then on OK. Often that'll fix the problem.

Your camera saves as bmp's?When you save with your software program there is a drop down box that says--save as type--here you can select jpeg. You might even see in --file---EXPORT--as jpeg..If you want to change a bmp to a jpeg open the bmp in MS paint then save as jpeg.(start---all programs---accessories--paint---file---open--then browse)
