High prices are a good thing. It will cause more development on alternative fuels, more exploration, etc. Other countries governments control the prices (OPEC). Little comes from ours in the form of taxes, etc. The less people use (which is starting to happen) will drive prices lower. Be glad your paying this countries price and not the price such as UK and others.

many of the problem is worldwide Commodity Speculators. If a sufficiently great form of investors take forward positions on commodities, their hypothesis will become a self-pleasing prophesy - expenses develop. upload to this the U. S. government's bio-gas production it quite is economically, morally and ecologically indefensible. each gallon of bio gas demands extra or less 2 gallons of oil for its production even with the incontrovertible fact that it quite is a functional way of paying tax gross revenues to acquaintances of the administration.

No. It's OPEC who sets the prices, the big oil companies who increase them, and the government that adds high taxes. They put the blame on average citizens, when, in fact, it is they who are high on power and lining their pockets.

no, greed by oil producing countries and our oil companies, caused it. there is an answer that would destroy the mideast economy and bring prices down dramatically, but too many people that count own stock in the oil companies and refuse to even think about it.
