Shouldn't be. The tie rods deal with steering not braking. If it broke at a high speed it may have boken the spindle which could cause some brake damage. But it would have to be a HIGH speed and it is still pretty rare.

Unless the tire was pulled away from the body, no, there shouldn't be any damage to the brakes. Check the lines running to the brakes, if they are in good shape then you should be OK
