run ipconfig from the command line to get the local computer's IP address

IP address of a PC can be found out by typing ipconfig on the command line. It lists down all network adapters with the ip address that is assigned to them.

It is not possible to find out the address of the other PC if its domain name is not known. If the other IP address is assigned through the DHCP service (Windows XP wizard) then type 'ping -t ' on the command line. If they are properly connected then the ip will be listed.
